South Chingford Foundation School

Ofsted

In the Spring term of 2026, South Chingford Foundation School (SCFS) was inspected by OFSTED under the new framework. We are incredibly proud of what the inspectors observed about our daily school life, particularly regarding our students' character and the welcoming environment we have built together.

What is it like to be a student at SCFS?

The report highlights that our pupils enjoy coming to school and value being part of a close, supportive community. Inspectors noted that students are respectful, kind and look out for one another. Crucially, the report recognises that bullying is rare and that positive relationships between staff and pupils support good behaviour across the school.

Academically, our pupils study a broad and engaging curriculum, and where teaching approaches are used consistently well, they make good progress. Beyond the classroom, we are proud to offer a wide range of trips, enrichment activities, and leadership roles, such as peer mentoring, that leave our students well-prepared to be positive members of their wider community.

Looking Forward: Our Next Steps

As a reflective school, we fully embrace the inspectors' feedback on where we can grow. We have a clear understanding of the areas requiring development, and detailed plans are already in place to address them. Leaders and staff are fully committed to making the rapid and sustained improvements needed.

Many of these positive actions are already underway, and we are seeing the early impact of this work in our classrooms. With the continued support of our parents, governors, and the wider SCFS community, we are confident that this next chapter will make a real, lasting difference for every student.
