Speak out challenge finalists 2013

On Wednesday 4th December Leah Coutts and Muhammed Muttar represented Rushcroft in the Waltham Forest Final of the Speak Out Challenge. This public speaking competition, sponsored by Jack Petchey, had 450 entrants. Leah and Muhammed were two of 19 finalists.

The students had to speak in front of 150 people, including the mayor of Waltham Forest, previous winners of the competition, and local dignitaries. The final was held at Frederick Bremer school.

Muhammed's speech paid tribute to his family and friends as his support network. Leah's was entitled the Devil and she took the audience through a personal story of a family member battling cancer. It was so emotional Mr Lock cried!

Rushcroft is very proud of its representatives and their Speak Out public speaking skills.
