Join Our Local Governing Body
We are currently welcoming applications from people looking to be Parent Governors as there are two vacancies available. Parents are invited to self nominate. Should more than two people be nominated, an election will be held.
South Chingford Foundation School is a wonderful organisation committed to improving the life chances and opportunities of all of our students. We are currently looking to expand and strengthen the School’s governing body to better support the School and ensure the best possible outcomes for our children. We are looking for people with a genuine interest in making a difference to “step up” and be part of the infrastructure of the School’s governance (LGB).
The role of the Governing Body at South Chingford Foundation School is to work alongside the Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Leadership Team in the decision-making process for the development of the School, its curriculum and policies.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that the students receive the best possible outcomes in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment whilst making sure the School runs efficiently and with full compliance.
To do this we need an effective governing body of people committed to being part of the future of the School and outcomes for the students. You don’t need to have specific skills or experience, or to have worked in education – common sense and feeling passionately about the School are far more valuable.
We would also hope that as a Governor you would be able to visit the school occasionally during the day – a great opportunity to see teaching in action, be shown around the current and planned building works or just to meet with some of the amazing staff and teachers.
Full support and training is available – you are not expected to already have any special knowledge or qualifications!
If you think you are able to commit to helping the School as a governor, if you have a real interest in making a difference – we would love to hear from you.
Please read the below letter and complete the application form by 20 October 2023:
